Why I can’t get excited about the Olympics August 6, 2008

The IOC and USOC suck. They keep kowtowing to China. Why in the world is the USOC apologizing for the cyclists wearing masks? I was recently in Beijing and the air is AWFUL. LA is downright pristine in comparison. It was hard for me to breathe and I’m not even an athlete! I seriously doubt two months would’ve made that huge of a difference. Now, I’m Chinese and I understand the whole “saving face” thing. But still – the athletes have to do what’s best for them and they shouldn’t be forced to apologize for China’s crappy air. Their health is at stake. And the USOC and IOC shouldn’t be enablers for China.
And what happened to the opening of China? Yeah, I think it’s been more firmly closed because of the Olympics. That was really too kind of the USOC to nonchalantly dismiss the Joey Cheeks visa issue. I understand that China can choose to let in who they want – but this surely violates the spirit of awarding them the Olympics.

Add to that: manipulative, selfish, whiny beyotch! Seriously, why is he not being cruxified more? Oh yeah, because most of the MSM are homers (except for this one). If it was ANY OTHER player, they would be all over him for being so selfish. As a matter of fact, wasn’t it not that long ago he called out Javon Walker for not being a team player? Which he had no business doing even back then. Hypocrite.
What universe is this? You know out in the real world, like the business world, people DO need to know if you’re gonna retire. They don’t put up with the yearly “oh I don’t know routine.” They don’t. Because the indecision can cause them to lose some very good people. The Packers have put up with it for what? At least 3 years now. All his talk about “they pressured me” is absolute crap. If he really had loyalty to them, he would tell them straight up! They have to plan a draft and free agency! I hope GB doesn’t give in and trade him within the division. He’s held them hostage for long enough.
So he retires and cries like a little girl at his press conference. Great, everyone thought, we can finally move on. But we can’t. Why? Because he keeps changing his mind! Which, you cannot keep doing out in the real world!!! And he goes out and publicly slams his team (on Greta van Sustren no less). WHAT??? HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE???!!! He purposely wants to go to their biggest rivals just so he can stick it to them. That Brett Favre is a real classy guy. He can hide and pretend behind his little country boy schtick, but the fact is, he’s a douchebag. He obviously LOVES all the media attention and is a total prima donna. Let’s also face it – he’s overrated. Yeah, I said it bitches! Physically, he can still play. But mentally? Since when is it a good idea to throw into triple coverage on a consistent basis? Why does he do this? Because he’s Brett Frickin’ Favre (though I’m sure he thinks of himself as GOD). And because John Madden, along with the rest of the media, will never call him out.
